Canvey Island Seafront Master Planning Project Underway | Castle Point News

Castle Point Borough Council, on behalf of the Canvey Island Coastal Community Team, is pleased to announce the appointment of architects Bell Phillips to undertake a master planning exercise to ensure the future vitality of Canvey Seafront. 

Over the next three months the architects will be consulting with local business representatives, community groups and landowners to consider proposals and ideas that will help continue the renaissance of Canvey Seafront as a family friendly destination.

At the completion of the consultation the architects will put forward a masterplan and development plan that can help inform the future of the seafront area.

Canvey Seafront is already proving popular with young families and older people who enjoy visiting the area.  As part of this the Canvey Island Coastal Community Team want to plan a way ahead to address some of the local challenges and capitalise upon additional opportunities for the area.  It is expected that the masterplan will build on the current popularity to further enhance the area to create a quality destination for the local community and visitors.

 Councillor Ray Howard, Chairman of the Coastal Communities Seafront Subgroup said “This project represents a significant step forward in the continued renaissance of Canvey Seafront. It provides an opportunity for local stakeholders to contribute their ideas to help achieve a great future for Canvey Seafront.”
