Castle Point Plan consultation

We have been made aware of misleading communications using the Castle Point Borough Council logo being distributed in Hadleigh regarding the Castle Point Plan consultation.

Cllr Warren Gibson, Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder for Strategic Planning, said: “The Castle Point Plan consultation is ongoing and all residents are urged to submit their views before it closes at midnight on Monday 16th September.

“No decisions have been made, and it is simply wrong to suggest otherwise. Right now – nothing is set in stone. The more feedback we get, the stronger the final plan will be.

“Sites have been included for consultation because they have development potential. Being included does not mean they will necessarily be developed.

“In order to demonstrate to the Planning Inspector that we have considered reasonable alternatives, green belt sites have been included in the consultation so people can let us know their views. The more urban sites that are developed the less need there will be to consider green belt sites for potential development.

“Once again, I would encourage residents to get involved and complete the consultation – they can submit as little or as much as they choose to.

“For accurate information, and to have their say, residents should visit castlepoint.gov.uk/castle-point-plan"
