New apprenticeships launched for National Apprenticeship Week

National Apprenticeship Week runs from Monday 10 February to Sunday 16 February.  It is a celebration of the positive impact that apprenticeships make to individuals, organisations and the wider economy.

An apprenticeship is a paid job where the learner gains valuable experience through on-the-job training. The apprentice spends at least 20 per cent of their time with a college, university or training provider. This leads to a nationally recognised qualification.

As part of its support for apprenticeships, Castle Point Borough Council is launching three new apprenticeships during the week:

  • Customer Service Apprentice. Working as part of the Customer and Digital Services Team, the apprentice will carry out administration and customer support activities and gain a level 3 qualification in Customer Service.
  • Information Technology Apprentice. Working as part of the Information Technology Services Team, this apprenticeship offers practical experience of the range of work carried out by the IT Team while studying for a level 3 qualification in Information and Communications Technology.
  • Policy, Performance and Projects Apprentice. Working with the Policy, Performance and Projects Team, this apprenticeship will provide support across a wide range of activities while studying for a level 4 qualification in Project Management.

Leader of Castle Point Borough Council, Dave Blackwell said: “We are very keen to support future talent by offering a wide range of apprentice roles across different functions of the Council.  National Apprenticeship Week is the ideal time to find out more about apprenticeship opportunities currently available.”

Deputy Leader of Castle Point Borough Council, Warren Gibson said: “Whether you are just leaving school, changing careers or returning to work, an apprenticeship can be the ideal opportunity to combine learning and training. Why not find out more about an apprenticeship with us?”
