Waste and Recycling Strategy 2024 to 2029
Waste and Recycling Collection Review and Draft Castle Point Waste and Recycling Strategy 2024 to 2029
The waste and recycling collection review and draft Castle Point Waste and Recycling strategy will target the environmental and waste issues that matter the most to the residents of Castle Point, ensuring the service is modern and future proofed.
As we start this journey, we would like to hear from you. By asking for your views the Council will be able to better understand and, where possible, target the issues to improve and develop our waste and recycling service.
This service is used by every resident every week and your views will contribute towards shaping the future of this important service.
Why a new strategy?
Developing a new strategy will enable us to work more effectivity with partners to deliver sustainable waste services.
We strive to deliver an efficient service and are always seeking innovative solutions that can help us transform the way waste and recycling is managed in Castle Point.
Our five key principles:
- Improving recycling rates and minimising waste.
- Educating residents, starting with our young people.
- Partnership working.
- Reducing cost for our taxpayers.
- Reducing our carbon footprint.
Why your views matter
It is important to us that we capture your views about the key principles of the strategy and the waste and recycling service.
We want as many residents as possible to complete the survey, this will help us to ensure that any decisions we make reflect the views of our community.
To do this, we are making it as simple and easy as possible for residents to put forward their views. Please do take the time to have your say.
Your views will help shape the Waste and Recycling strategy and the future of our Waste and Recycling service, ensuring the service meets the needs of the community, is modern and future proofed.
Our survey runs from 16 September 2024 until 4 November 2024.
