Families across the Borough will soon benefit from major improvements to local parks as Castle Point Borough Council begins its £1 million play space rejuvenation programme this spring.

Starting this April, contractors will begin setting up at several parks, with full installation works taking place throughout the summer and completing by the end of September.

The programme will deliver exciting new themed play equipment, improved sports areas and the Council’s first fully accessible and inclusive playground, ensuring that all children can enjoy high quality outdoor play.

The upgrades include:

•    Hadleigh Memorial Park – A new castle themed play tower, offering climbing and imaginative play opportunities.
•    Richmond Park – A full playground rejuvenation, including a striking ship themed central play structure.
•    South Benfleet Playing Fields – The Council’s first accessible and inclusive Playground, designed for children with a wide range of needs.
•    Woodside Park – A new multi-use games arena for community sport.
•    Thundersley Common Recreation Ground – A second new multi-use games arena giving young people even more options for active play.

Residents may see some temporary closures at these parks while works are carried out. The Council will keep any disruption to a minimum and will provide clear updates as the installations progress.
