Our specialist contractor has now received the results of the laboratory tests carried out on sediment samples taken from the Lake. Together with the results of our silt depth survey, these results will help determine the scale and approach for the dredging and improvement works which will start place this winter.
The contractor is currently reviewing the findings and is expected to provide its recommendations within the next four to five working days.
The Council has also received initial advice from the Environment Agency on the Flood Risk Activity Permit (FRAP) process which is a requirement before dredging to take place. We have requested additional pre-application support to help move the project forward as quickly and efficiently as possible.
We will continue to keep residents updated as the project progresses and more information becomes available.
