The Mayor, Mayoress and Cllr Rob Lillis visit the Paddocks
Wednesday 7 January 2026

The Mayor and Mayoress of Castle Point paid a special visit to the Council’s Wellbeing Programme, celebrating the positive impact it is having on local people.

The programme offers a wide range of free and low-cost activities, from fitness classes, yoga, breathing and mediation, to social support groups, all designed to make wellbeing accessible and affordable for everyone in the community.

There is something for all ages, from ‘Leap Sprogs’  –  a nursery age activity group session, to ‘Sit and Move’ classes – a gentle seated exercise class which the Mayoress took part in.

During the visit at the Paddocks Centre, the Mayor and Mayoress met participants and staff, hearing powerful stories of how the initiative is improving lives. They were accompanied by Cllr Rob Lillis, Portfolio Holder for Health, Wellbeing and Housing.

The Mayor, Cllr Barry Campagna, said: “It’s inspiring to see the difference this programme is making. Wellbeing is at the heart of a thriving community, and initiatives like this show how much can be achieved when we work together to support people’s health and wellbeing.”

Residents are encouraged to explore the Wellbeing Programme and take advantage of the free and low-cost activities available. For more information please email the Community Wellbeing Team: Wellbeing@castlepoint.gov.uk or contact either of the Council’s Leisure Centres.
