Pirate-themed play area officially opens at Richmond Park
Ahoy, mateys! Young adventurers can now set sail on Richmond Park's brand-new pirate ship as the upgraded play area officially opens following a major investment by Castle Point Borough Council.
Opened by the Mayor, Cllr Kate Knott, on 13 October, the transformed play area features a striking pirate ship, a climbing net, cableway, swings and a range of other equipment designed to inspire imaginative play, adventure and outdoor activity for children of all ages.
The improvements form part of the Council's £1 million investment programme to modernise play areas across the Borough, creating safer, more inclusive and more enjoyable spaces for local families.
Councillor Kate Knott said: "We're delighted to officially open this fantastic new play area. We’re sure it will be the setting for swashbuckling adventures for many years to come. Whether children are captaining their ship, walking the plank or searching for treasure, this new play area offers something for everyone."
"This investment is about creating high-quality spaces that bring communities together, encourage active play and give children opportunities to have fun."
Residents are invited to visit Richmond Park and explore the improved facilities, which have been designed to provide exciting play opportunities while enhancing one of the Borough's valued community parks.
