Get involved in shaping your housing services

Your experience matters. Help shape the services that affect your home and community.

We’re creating a new Tenant Engagement Framework and we’re looking for tenants and leaseholders to get involved.
Whether you’re passionate about repairs, interested in how your block is managed, living in sheltered housing, want to help us resolve complaints, or simply want your voice heard – there’s a role for you.

You don’t need any previous experience. We’ll support you every step of the way.

What is the Tenant Engagement Framework?

Our Tenant Engagement Framework brings together a range of tenant groups and panels that help us:
•    Improve housing services
•    Scrutinise performance and policies
•    Co design improvements
•    Make sure tenant and leaseholder voices influence decisions

Some roles involve regular meetings. Others are more flexible, such as reviewing information, feeding back on repairs, or acting as a local contact point.

Ways you can get involved
You can tell us what you’re interested in when you apply. Current opportunities include:
•    Home Panel  – help improve repairs services. This group meets every month.
•    Block Champions – represent your block and raise local issues. This group meets once a year (tbc).
•    Sheltered Housing Panel – help shape services for sheltered residents. This group meets every two months.
•    Scrutiny and Task and Finish Groups – review how we’re doing and challenge us to improve. Meeting frequency to be confirmed.
•    Complaints Panel – help us to improve the complaints process. This group meets every three months.
•    Tenant and Leaseholder Panel – help influence policies, strategies and services. This group meets every month.

You can apply to join up to two groups.

What’s in it for you?
•    A real opportunity to influence decisions
•    Training and support provided
•    Expenses covered where applicable
•    Build confidence, skills and experience
•    Help improve services for yourself and your neighbours

Who can apply?

You can apply if you are:
•    A council tenant in a Castle Point Borough Council property
•    A leaseholder in a Castle Point Borough Council property
•    Interested in improving housing services
•    Able to commit some time and energy

You don’t need formal skills or experience – just an interest in sharing your views and working with others on the panel.
