Role Overview
As a Block Champion you will play a vital role in making sure our estates, neighbourhoods and blocks are safe and well maintained for the benefit of the community.
Key Responsibilities
This panel plays an important role in making sure Castle Point’s Neighbourhood and Estates services are delivered within the specification of our contracts. Please see the Terms of Reference for the full remit of the panel. Below is a summary of the Panel’s role.
- Consider and influence grounds maintenance, cleansing and communal repairs policy and procedure
- Monitor progress against Castle Point’s performance in estate management, including satisfaction of tenants
- Consider and make recommendations on estate services and estate management improvements ensuring no tenant is likely to be discriminated against
- Holding Castle Point to account where we are not meeting expectations against our contracts or delivering services in line with our service standards

Support
Staff from the Housing Team and Engagement Team will ensure that Block Champions:
- Are given a real sense of ownership and are actively involved in the organisation
- Have genuine opportunities to influence estate services
- Have opportunities to gain skills, knowledge and experience which will contribute to capacity building for both individuals and communities
- Are provided with all the admin support required to carry out their role effectively
