We’re updating our Housing Allocations Policy to make sure it is fair, transparent, and meets the needs of our local residents. Your views are vital in shaping these changes.
 

Why are we consulting?

• The policy sets out how we allocate social housing in Castle Point. We want to:
• Make the process clearer and easier to understand
• Ensure decisions are fair and transparent
• Comply with recent legislation and good practice
• Make best use of the limited social housing available
• Make it easier to understand who is eligible
• Improve the way we prioritise people

Your feedback will help us finalise the policy. We anticipate that the new policy will be launched in 2026/7.
