Our response to the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) findings

The Regulator for Social Housing was set up in 2018 and since 2023 it has been responsible for ensuring that all councils and housing associations who provide social housing are complying with a series of consumer standards. We have been engaging with the Regulator of Social Housing in relation to their recently adopted Consumer Standards.

Castle Point Borough Council failed to collect Tenant Satisfaction Measures by the end of March this year (2024), which all landlords are now required to do annually. As a result, the Council has received a ‘C3’ grading, meaning there are serious failings we need to address.

We want to ensure all tenants live in safe homes of good quality and are committed to making the necessary improvements as quickly as possible.

The Regulator is now inspecting the Council’s housing service and will provide us with a judgement on what they find and what improvements need to be made. The Council is committed to working with the Regulator and putting right all failings to ensure that we maintain the highest standards.

We will update these pages as we progress our plans.
