Our response to the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) findings

The Regulator for Social Housing was set up in 2018 and since 2023 it has been responsible for ensuring that all councils and housing associations who provide social housing are complying with a series of consumer standards. We have been engaging with the Regulator of Social Housing in relation to their recently adopted Consumer Standards.

A planned inspection took place in November 2024 which found that fundamental changes were needed. 

As a result, the Regulator downgraded Castle Point Borough Council from a C3 to a C4 grading. 

We apologise that the Council has not met the expectations of our tenants, or of the Regulator. We are fully committed to making the necessary improvements.
