Combined Safeguarding Policy and Strategy for Children, Young People and Vulnerable Adults

The Council is committed to ensuring that everyone in the community will be protected and enabled to live as independently as possible in a safe environment.

We believe that every child and vulnerable adult residing in one of our properties or receiving a service from us has the right to live free from abuse. Wherever possible we will work with our partners to ensure that this aim is achieved. Council staff are trained and supported in recognising and dealing with incidents of abuse.

The Council has developed a  Combined Safeguarding Policy and Strategy for Children, Young People and Vulnerable Adults

Commitment to using these procedures will enable staff to be clear about what to do when faced with an incident of abuse or where they suspect that a vulnerable adult is being abused or neglected.
