T: 01268 882200

E: tenancyofficers@castlepoint.gov.uk or firstcontact@castlepoint.gov.uk

W: Fill out an online form

What information do I need to provide?

To help us to deal with your enquiry as swiftly as possible, please provide the following information relating to the ASB you are experiencing:

  • Date of the incident
  • Time of the incident
  • Name of the individual(s) involved (if known)
  • The impact of the ASB on you/your family

If you are experiencing ongoing incidents of ASB we encourage you to complete and maintain an incident diary. This enables us to gather a clear body of evidence against perpetrators which is essential for any legal action which may be considered.

What happens when I report ASB?

If you are experiencing ASB and choose to report it to us, your concerns will be thoroughly considered and addressed where there is sufficient evidence to do so. We will make it clear if there are any limitations of our powers as a landlord and let you know if enforcement action may or may not be possible.

Worried about reporting ASB?

You may feel uneasy in reporting incidents of ASB to us. You may fear that things will get worse if the perpetrator finds out that you have made a report. We understand your concerns and will not take any action or speak to anyone else about the problem without your agreement. All reports made to us are treated in the strictest confidence.

Reports may also be given anonymously. Investigating anonymous reports can be more challenging and our ability to help those affected by the ASB might be limited.

Please note, any reports of ASB suspected to be malicious or motivated by the complainant’s prejudice towards the alleged perpetrators because of their age, gender, religion, race, colour, appearance, disability, sexual orientation, and cultural background will not be seen as genuine.

What happens next?

ASB cases will be allocated to the Housing Management Team to investigate. The officer carrying out the enquiry will lead on the case investigation and any later interventions and enforcement action to ensure an effective resolution to the case.
